New lawsuits in Florida and Nevada are adding to the legal pressure on Roblox as families accuse the online gaming platform of failing to protect children from sexual predators.
One of the latest cases involves a Las Vegas girl who was just 9 years old when an adult allegedly began grooming her and sending sexually explicit material through online communications, Hoodline.com reported.
Meanwhile, Florida families have filed lawsuits against Roblox and Discord, alleging predators used the gaming platform to contact children before moving conversations to another app, where the exploitation escalated.
The lawsuits question whether Roblox’s safety measures are doing enough to prevent adults from targeting children.
Nevada Parents Sue Roblox Over Alleged Exploitation of 9-Year-Old
An 80-page lawsuit filed in Clark County District Court in October alleges Roblox failed to protect a young girl from an online predator who contacted her in 2021.
According to the complaint, the adult developed a relationship with the child and repeatedly sent her sexually explicit photographs and videos through 2023.
The girl’s parents, identified in court records as John and Mary Doe, accuse Roblox of negligence, misleading families about platform safety, failing to warn users about potential dangers and maintaining features that made it easier for predators to contact children.
A central allegation involves Roblox’s in-game communication system.
The lawsuit argues that even as Roblox introduced additional safety restrictions, adults could still reach children through public chats within games.
The parents contend that these communication features allowed predators to find young users in games popular with children and begin developing relationships with them.
Roblox did not respond to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s request for comment on the new lawsuit.
Florida Families Allege Predators Used Roblox and Discord Together
In Florida, two families filed lawsuits within approximately two weeks of each other, alleging that adults used Roblox to groom children before moving conversations to Discord, West Palm Beach ABC News affiliate Channel 25 WPBF reported.
The lawsuits describe predators posing as children to gain young users’ trust.
Once those relationships developed, the alleged predators encouraged the children to communicate through Discord, where additional exploitation occurred.
This movement between platforms has become a central issue in Roblox litigation.
The concern isn’t limited to what happens inside a Roblox game. Lawsuits also question whether features that allow strangers to meet and communicate with children can create opportunities for exploitation that continues through messaging apps, social media or other services.
Discord has said its platform uses automated systems and trained safety teams to detect and remove content that violates its policies. The company also points to its minimum age requirement of 13 and parental oversight tools available through its Family Center.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier says his office continues to encounter cases involving alleged predators who use Roblox to contact children.
In December 2025, Florida filed a civil lawsuit accusing Roblox of misrepresenting its safety measures while failing to adequately protect young users from predators and sexually explicit material.
Speaking with WPBF in October, Uthmeier said investigators had encountered dozens of additional predator cases involving Roblox since the state’s lawsuit was filed.
The renewed attention comes as Florida authorities investigate a separate case involving two teenage sisters from Indiantown who allegedly left home with a man they met through Roblox.
The suspect was extradited to Martin County and was being held without bond, according to the October news report.
Florida’s actions are part of a broader effort to determine whether gaming and communication platforms have adequately addressed the risks of online child exploitation.
Roblox Faces New Allegations After Nevada Safety Settlement
The latest Las Vegas lawsuit comes six months after Roblox reached a $12.5 million agreement with Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford’s office.
Announced in April 2026, the agreement required Roblox to strengthen protections for young users, including age verification, additional parental controls and restrictions on communications between adults and minors.
The company also agreed to fund educational and child-safety initiatives.
Yet the new Nevada lawsuit argues that Roblox’s changes haven’t adequately addressed the risks associated with communication inside games.
Roblox maintains that protecting younger users is a priority.
In a statement to WPBF, the company pointed to mandatory age checks, artificial intelligence monitoring and chat restrictions designed to reduce unsafe interactions.
The company says it continues to strengthen those safeguards.
How the New Cases Fit Into Nationwide Roblox Litigation
Roblox faces a growing number of lawsuits alleging that children were groomed, sexually exploited or assaulted after encountering adults through its gaming platform.
Some complaints also name Discord or other communication services, alleging predators moved conversations away from Roblox after making initial contact.
Federal lawsuits involving similar allegations have been consolidated into multidistrict litigation, known as MDL No. 3166, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. As of October 1, 2026, the federal Roblox child sexual exploitation litigation included 180 pending actions, according to the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. The cases are consolidated before Chief Judge Richard Seeborg in the Northern District of California.
Other lawsuits, including the newly reported Nevada case, are proceeding in state courts.
The litigation examines Roblox and age verification, content moderation, parental controls and whether companies should be held legally responsible when predators exploit communication features to target children.
The latest Florida and Nevada lawsuits add to the growing legal scrutiny of whether Roblox and other platforms have done enough to recognize and prevent those risks.
