VictimConnect: Confidential Help for Survivors of Sexual Assault and Other Crimes

VictimConnect Resource Center

When you’ve been harmed, it’s not always clear where to turn when the trauma feels overwhelming, confusing, or fresh. VictimConnect Resource Center exists to meet survivors right where they are: with confidential support, real-time guidance, and zero judgment.

Operated by the National Center for Victims of Crime, VictimConnect is a 24/7 support service that helps people impacted by sexual assault, abuse, trafficking, stalking, and domestic violence. The Center provides access to the emotional support and resources survivors need to feel safer and more in control.

Support, No Matter Where You Are in Your Process

Not every survivor is ready to report what happened. Some don’t know if it was “bad enough” to reach out. Others just need someone calm, trained, and trustworthy to help sort through the chaos.

VictimConnect meets survivors at every point in their journey, whether they’re seeking legal help, emotional support, shelter, or simply validation.

Trained Victim Assistance Specialists provide:

  • Crisis support and trauma-informed listening
  • Safety planning
  • Referrals to local and national resources, including housing help
  • Information on rights and reporting options
  • Help navigating next steps — or no steps, if that’s what you choose

Everything is confidential and survivor-directed. No pressure. No assumptions. Just someone trained to walk beside you.

Call, Chat, or Text — 24/7

VictimConnect is one of the most accessible resources in the country, offering three easy ways to connect:

All services are free and available to anyone impacted by crime in the U.S., regardless of age, gender, immigration status, or past interactions with law enforcement.

Connecting Survivors to What They Need — Not What They’re Told to Do

VictimConnect isn’t about pushing someone to report or follow a specific protocol. It’s about giving survivors choices and the clarity and confidence to act on their own timeline.
