According to a Jan. 8 report by the Marietta Daily Journal, an arrest warrant has been filed by Cobb County Police against a suspect accused of raping a woman at a Walmart in Marietta.
The suspect, identified as Antonio Gerardo Badilla Valerio, of Lawrenceville, is accused of performing multiple sex acts on the victim forcibly and against her will, according to a warrant filed on New Year’s Eve.
The attack occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. Dec. 18, 2025, at a Walmart located at 1785 Cobb Parkway SE, near Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Valerio’s warrant reads.
According to a report from WSB-TV, Valerio is an Uber driver and committed the assault against a passenger. Per their report, the victim booked the trip, got into the Uber and at some point, police say Valerio sexually assaulted her.
A spokesperson for Cobb Police told the MDJ they could not confirm or share information due to the crimes involved in the case.
An Uber spokesperson told the MDJ the company has removed Valerio’s access to the app.
“We take reports of this nature extremely seriously, and this disturbing behavior has no place on the Uber platform,” the spokesperson said. “We removed the driver’s access to the app as soon as this was reported to us and stand ready to support law enforcement with their investigation.”
According to Cobb Police, Valerio is not in custody and is considered wanted. Per the warrant, Valerio is facing three felony charges once in custody, including one count of rape and two counts of aggravated sodomy.
Uber will face its first driver sexual assault trial in Arizona later this week. Nearly 3,000 lawsuits have been consolidated in a multidistrict litigation, with similar claims made by plaintiffs that sexual assaults were committed by Uber drivers and that the rideshare giant has failed to take basic actions to improve the safety of its riders.
