Are you looking for a welcoming and secure environment where you can share your story, connect with others, and help spread awareness? Community support is crucial in helping survivors feel heard and valued, fostering a sense of trust and belonging. Here are a few recommended resources for survivors seeking a platform to share their experiences.
End The Backlog – Survivor Stories
End The Backlog is an initiative focused on the untested rape kit backlog, and their Survivor Stories section allows victims of sexual violence to share their personal journeys. This space helps to humanize the issue of untested rape kits and gives survivors a platform to be heard.
Rainn – Stories of Survivors
The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) provides a platform for survivors to share their stories and connect with a community of support. RAINN is one of the largest organizations in the U.S. dedicated to combating sexual violence. RAINN’s Speakers Bureau includes more than 3,600 survivors from different corners of the country and different life experiences who have a unique and important story to share.
Speak Your Truth
Started by Hannah Hollander, a survivor of domestic violence who vulnerably and boldly shared her story on Facebook in 2019, the platform has grown into a place where hundreds of survivors have shared their own stories of abuse or needing resources to help them escape. Speak Your Truth is a Facebook group that aims to amplify the voices of those impacted by domestic violence and provide education and resources that foster community, self-sufficiency and overall well-being.
Survivors Chat
SurvivorsChat.com aims to help every survivor be their own greatest success in life; give every survivor the strength and power to battle their life’s hardships; offer solidarity and kinship in every survivor’s hour of need; and make the lonely survivor a thing of the past. Since 2006, Survivors Chat has provided a voice for thousands of survivors of sexual assault and abuse.
